This privacy notice explains why Ducale Driving School needs to collect and store your personal information, how it is used, who it might be shared with, and how long it is kept. It also outlines your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Below is a summary of the personal data your instructor may need to collect and how it is used.

Your instructor keeps secure written and/or digital records of all payments made, lesson appointments booked, and lessons delivered, in order to maintain accurate accounting records as legally required for six years. After that point, account records and any supporting personal information are disposed of securely. This information is held in the instructor's paper-based/digital diary, your student record card, and the student record system.

Ducale Driving School will request your name, address, telephone number(s), date of birth, provisional licence details, and (if you are under 18) the contact details of a parent or guardian. We will also request details of an emergency contact.

These details are used for the following purposes:

• Providing access to any partner-company products included as part of your driving lesson package.
• Booking a theory or practical driving test on your behalf.
• Providing you with promotional offers relating to our business.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records, as legally required, for a period of six years.
• Contacting your emergency contact in the event of an incident that requires it; these details may be passed to the emergency services in such circumstances.

Your instructor holds records of your learning progress in a paper-based/digital student record system, so they know where you are in your training programme at any point in time.

Ducale Driving School may also hold records of test passes and failures, including driving faults noted on your test report, in order to monitor instructor performance.

With your consent, upon passing your driving test we would like to take a photograph of you and request a written review, for the purposes of promoting Ducale Driving School. These may be shared on social media and the Ducale Driving School website. Please note that we cannot prevent the sharing or copying of such images once posted on social media; however, at your request we will promptly delete any posts on platforms under our control.
